Owner
Melinda obtained her MBA with a Specialization in Accounting from Sam Houston State University in 2008. She worked as an auditor before becoming the Administration Director of a non-profit organization. In this position, she recognized the non-profit sector's need for specialized accounting expertise. In 2015, she founded MWCPA to offer consulting and outsourced accounting services to nonprofits. The firm has since expanded from a solo operation to a team of ten, committed to empowering our clients to better serve the community. Melinda, a married mother of two daughters, enjoys rural life on 46 acres with cows and a dog. While she cherishes the tranquility of the countryside, she also relishes city visits for Broadway shows and delicious restaurants. Melinda loves to travel and has aspirations to mark visiting all 7 continents off her bucket list. 4 down, 3 to go!
Client CFO
Jeanne Grube, CPA, obtained her BBA in accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. She started her accounting career with Ernst and Young after college and her experience with EY, led to a trust officer position and later a controller position with a local architect firm. Motherhood and the desire for a more flexible work arrangement led her back to an auditing career with Blazek & Vetterling, and it is where her love and passion for the nonprofit community developed. After spending over 15 years with Blazek & Vetterling, she desired to apply her experience in a role with MWCPA that could more directly assist clients in developing policies and processes that provide strong controls, accurate reporting, and a smooth annual audit process. As an avid shell collector, she is known to spend hours on the beach searching for the perfect shell. Jeanne also enjoys traveling with friends and photography.
Controller
Leslie Blair began her career as a bookkeeper while pursuing her college education. She finds fulfillment in the non-profit sector, feeling connected to something greater and making an impact on her community through her work. Leslie is a dedicated wife and the proud mother of two daughters. Working from home has afforded her the flexibility to manage her professional duties alongside active parenting. Her life is anchored in her Christian faith, and she seeks a deeper comprehension of theology, hoping her faith shines through in her daily interactions. Weekends are reserved for quality time with her family and friends, and she takes pleasure in thrift shopping and occasional home improvement endeavors.
